St. Charles First Assembly of God Church
Project Size: 70,000 square feet
The building previously housed an automobile dealership. The church initially planned to add onto their existing facility which would require a parking garage. Upon preliminary budgeting and feasibility study performed by JHOOKER, it was determined that a new location would be more cost effective. A new property was identified and renovated to accommodate the growing congregation. The project consisted of the complete demolition of the interior of the existing dealership. Four columns were removed and the existing beams were “hung” from a new 75’ span beam that was installed on the roof. This allowed for the sanctuary to be housed within the service garage area.

Faith
Christian Fellowship
Faith Christian Fellowship included a 20,000 square foot addition
and a 12,000 Square Foot interior remodel using a MEP design build
approach for design and construction. The sanctuary has a seating
capacity for 1100 people. A key feature of this project is the upgraded
lobby and the creation of a “Main Street” to create an
area for fellowship and member interaction. By using the design build
approach we were able to perform an extensive design review, examine
constructability methods and create a savings to the church of $900,000. |

Chapel
of the Lake
As the selected design builder on this project we are providing extensive
pre-construction services for the church. Services include site feasibility
studies, budgeting and estimating, value engineering, constructability
review and scheduling. Based on our early findings the church has
secured another property that best fits their future growth needs.
As the design builder our goal was to provide the church with the
best information to facilitate their decision process.
Presently we are moving into conceptual design of the church on the
newly purchased property with an anticipated construction start of
early 2007. |
